Dallas Rapper Booked Into Collin County Jail

Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug, whose real name is Xavier Landum, was arrested Friday, August 21, 2026, and booked into the Collin County Jail.
Court and jail records cited by FOX 4 show that Landum was arrested by the Allen Police Department and faces charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of less than two ounces of marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Authorities have not publicly released details explaining what led to the arrest.
BigXthaPlug Misses Scheduled Festival Performance
BigXthaPlug was scheduled to perform Friday at the Country Rising Festival, but did not appear.
The festival said on Instagram that he would miss his scheduled performance because of a “personal emergency.” FOX 4 reported the missed appearance while confirming that Landum had been booked into jail that same day.
No additional connection between the festival announcement and the circumstances of his arrest has been publicly established.
The Arrest Comes Exactly One Year After a Previous Arrest

The August 21 date also carries an unusual coincidence.
FOX 4 reports that Landum was arrested in Dallas exactly one year earlier, on August 21, 2025, on marijuana possession and unlawful firearm possession charges.
That 2025 arrest occurred on the same day his album I Hope You’re Happy was released.
BigXthaPlug was also arrested in Arlington in February 2025 for marijuana possession. According to FOX 4, that charge was later dismissed.
BigXthaPlug Has Built a Major Audience
The latest arrest comes as BigXthaPlug has established himself as one of the most commercially visible rappers to emerge from Dallas in recent years.
His catalog includes records such as “Texas” and “Mmhmm.”
FOX 4 reported Saturday that BigXthaPlug currently has approximately 19.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify, while “Mmhmm” has surpassed 548 million streams on the platform.
His music has also expanded beyond traditional hip-hop audiences. His 2025 album I Hope You’re Happy incorporated country influences as he continued broadening his sound and audience.
BigXthaPlug Arrested: What Happens Next
For now, the confirmed information surrounding Friday’s arrest remains limited.
BigXthaPlug has been charged, but charges are not convictions. Details surrounding what led Allen police to arrest him have not been publicly released.
Until additional information becomes available through police, court records or Landum’s representatives, anything beyond those facts would be speculation.
