Artist to Watch: St. Paul MC Juice Lord Is Making His Mark on the Twin Cities
The Twin Cities music scene has never been short on artists with something to say. St. Paul MC Juice Lord has steadily built a body of work that makes him one of the local names worth paying attention to.
Rooted in St. Paul, Juice Lord has spent years developing his sound, releasing music and taking his work to stages across the Twin Cities. His connection to the city runs throughout his career. It gives his music a distinctly local foundation while allowing him to continue expanding his reach.
Representing St. Paul
He has specifically represented the Rondo community and Fuller Avenue. He carries pieces of his hometown into his music rather than separating the artist from where he comes from.

Terri’s Baby, released in 2025, includes records such as “Ma Forgive Me,” “Still In It,” “Midwest Young” and “90’s Movies.”
The project also received its own release celebration at Minneapolis’ 7th St Entry in October 2025, adding another chapter to Juice Lord’s growing presence in the local music scene.
Putting in Work on Stage
Over the years, the St. Paul MC has shared bills and opened for respected hip-hop artists. That list includes GZA, Jay Electronica, Saba and Freddie Gibbs.
Those opportunities don’t replace the work of building an audience. They do show the experience Juice Lord has accumulated as a live performer while continuing to establish his own name.
Staying Connected to the Community
Juice Lord’s movement isn’t limited to his own releases.
More recently, he announced plans to bring his band to the Black State Fair, describing the performance as a live jam-session-style experience where other artists could also come through and participate.
It’s another side of what makes a healthy local music scene work. Artists release records, but they also perform together, create opportunities to connect and give audiences a reason to experience the music outside of streaming platforms.
For an independent scene like the Twin Cities, those connections matter.
